The Toyota Wish (Japanese: トヨタ・ウィッシュ, Hepburn: Toyota Wisshu) is an automobile produced by the Japanese automaker Toyota from 2003 to 2017. It is a compact MPV with standard three-row seating, and was positioned between the Corolla Spacio and the Ipsum in Toyota’s minivan lineup. In Japan, it was available at Toyota Netz dealerships.
Apart from Japan, the Wish was also assembled in Thailand (for Malaysia and Singapore) and Taiwan. It was also sold in Hong Kong, where it was imported from Japan.

2003[edit]
The Wish was developed under code name «760N» by the team, led by chief engineer named Takeshi Yoshida and was introduced to the public for the first time at Tokyo Motor Show in October 2002 (Commercial vehicles & welcab show) and then launched in Japan in January 2003, under a massive publicity campaign with Japanese singer Hikaru Utada. The television commercial features her song Colors, which coincides with the launch of her new CD single. The car was marketed under the «Wish Comes True» slogan.
Codenamed ZNE10G (FWD) and ZNE14G (4WD), it uses a 1.8 L 1ZZ-FE engine, producing (JIS) 132 PS and 170 N⋅m (125 lb⋅ft). It is only available with four-speed automatic. A 2.0 L version (codenamed ANE11W for the six-seater version and ANE10G for the seven-seater version) was launched in March 2003. Equipped with the 1AZ-FSE direct-injection engine, it has (JIS) 155 PS (114 kW) and 192 N·m (142 lb·ft). Variants with the 2.0 D-4 engine are only available with a CVT gearbox.
The WISH was extremely successful in its home market, and is frequently seen on the Top 5 on the 30 bestseller list each month. It has also made shockwave to its competitors, such as the Honda Stream and Mazda Premacy/Mazda5 to changing its market positioning.
The Toyota Wish was also launched as a locally assembled model in Thailand in December 2003 following the compact MPV trend of Thailand at that time. The Wish in Thailand is available with 3 trim levels including 2.0 S, 2.0 Q and 2.0 Q Limited (with sunroof) and is very similar to the Japanese version, except for a few differences:
- Models across the range get the 2.0Z fenders.
- Standard 17-inch wheels across the range (Same design as the one used on the 2.0Z)
- Same 2.0 1AZ-FE engine as the ASEAN Camry instead of the 1AZ-FSE
- No privacy glass (excluding the grey-import variants)
- Leather upholstery as standard on the 2.0Q and 2.0Q Limited
- The rear Double wishbone suspension of 4WD models in Japan was fitted with 2WD model in Thailand as standard. (no Torsion beam rear suspension in Thai version).
2004[edit]
The Wish was launched in Taiwan as a left-hand drive vehicle in November 2004. For this market, the car is marketed under the «No Rules!» slogan and the TVCM is shot in New York. The Taiwanese version shares the same engine as the Thailand model, which means missing out on Toyota’s D-4 technology. The Taiwanese assembled version have some styling differences: a new front end, redesigned rear LED tail lights, reflectors recessed into the rear bumper, body color/chrome side rubbing strips and a cleaner chrome rear plate garnish. The WISH badging is not an integral part of the garnish, unlike the Japanese-spec model. Equipment may include parking sensors, dual moonroof and leather seats. Another aspect unique to the Taiwanese Wish is that it can be specified with a beige interior color scheme unlike its Japanese and Thai-built counterparts. The Wish was also made available in Indonesia as a CBU import, where many were offered as prizes by Bank Mandiri.
2005[edit]
The Wish was updated at the end of 2005 with the introduction of a facelifted model. The original car was fundamentally well designed and that meant that few changes were necessary. Cosmetic changes to the headlights, bumpers, LED tail lights and dashboard were made, together with revised switchgear for the climate control and automatic transmission (The 2.0 Z received a seven-gear transmission.) As the changes were minor the fuel consumption figures, which are the best in the compact MPV class, remain the same. The 2005 Wish was also the third model to be sold exclusively at Toyota Netz dealerships, hence the replacement of the Wish’s signature «W» front emblem with a generic NETZ oval as seen on the 2005 Vitz and Ist. Feedback on the electronic throttle control has been mixed, with claims that the original throttle system used in the 2003 car is quicker off the mark. The drivetrain and engines remained the same.
For model year 2007 on Japanese models only, G-BOOK, a subscription telematics service, is offered as an option.
2008[edit]
In Singapore, the local distributor brought in the Toyota Wish later in 2008 as a compact MPV to buyers there.[2] Instead of the generic Netz oval emblem found on the parallel imported Wish, the local distributor replaced the oval Netz emblem with the Toyota one. Sold as the Wish Aero Tourer to distinguish itself from the parallel import Wish; additional, accessories such as a 5-piece bodykit inclusive of a high mounted rear LED brake light, touchscreen DVD head unit, reverse camera, side mirror indicators, illuminated scuff plates, window visors, chrome muffler tip are featured as standard equipment. Previously, the Wish was only sold by parallel importers.

The second-generation Wish has been available for the Japanese market since March 2009. It is powered by Toyota’s Dual VVT-i 2ZR-FAE and 3ZR-FAE engines. All models come with Toyota’s 7-speed Super CVT-i transmission. The exterior dimensions remain similar to the previous generation, except for the length which has increased slightly.
The second generation Wish continued to be sold outside of the Japanese market in Hong Kong, Singapore[4] and Taiwan. These models had speedometer clusters that were slightly different from the Japanese market model in the km/h dials section.
The Wish received a facelift in April 2012. Cosmetic changes to the headlights and rear lamps featured LED insets, revised front grille, rear tailgate garnish and dashboard meter cluster were made.

Discontinuation[edit]
Sales of the Wish was discontinued in Taiwan in 2016, where it was replaced by the Sienta, and was also discontinued in Japan on 13 October 2017 and in Singapore in mid 2018,[5] where Prius α and the Sienta replaced the outgoing Wish. In Japan, the role of the Wish as a three-row compact MPV is effectively replaced by the Sienta, the Prius α and the tall-bodied Noah/Voxy/Esquire triplets.

Toyota WISH (Тойота Виш) — пятидверный автомобиль класса «минивэн», выпускаемый компанией «Toyota» с января 2003 года. Название автомобиля переводится на русский язык как «желание».
Является небольшим минивэном с тремя рядами сидений. Вместимость — 7 человек. Комплектуется автоматической коробкой передач и двигателем 1ZZ-FE объёмом 1,8 литра либо вариатором и двухлитровым двигателем 1AZ-FSE. Имеется полноприводная модификация. Существует леворульная версия.
В Россию автомобиль официально не поставляется, поэтому распространён в основном в праворульном варианте в Сибири и на Дальнем Востоке.

Toyota Wish (Тойота Виш) — Пятидверный автомобиль класса минивэн. Название автомобиля переводится на русский язык как ЖЕЛАНИЕ.
Машина была разработана под кодовым названием «760N» группой, возглавляемой главным инженером Такеши Йошида
и была представлена публике впервые на Токийском автосалоне в октябре 2002 года (Коммерческий транспорт и welcab шоу)
и затем в январе 2003 запущена в производство.
В Россию автомобиль официально не поставляется, по этому распространен в праворульном варианте преимушественно в Сибири
и на Дальнем Востоке.
2003
Автомобиль продавался под лозунгом «Wish Comes True». Под кодовым названием ZNE10G (FWD) и ZNE14G (4WD), он использует
1,8L 1ZZ-FE двигатель (JIS) 132 л.с. и 170 Н • м (125 фунтов • м). Он доступен только с 4-ступенчатой автоматической трансмиссией.
2,0L версия (кодовое название ANE11W 6-местный вариант и ANE10G 7-местный вариант) была создана в апреле 2003 года.
Оснащен 1AZ-FSE двигателем с непосредственным впрыском (JIS) 155 л.с. (114 кВт) и 192 Н • м (142 фут-фунтов).
Варианты с 2,0 D-4 двигателя доступны только с коробкой передач CVT. Автомобиль оказался чрезвычайно успешным на внутреннем рынке Японии. Он часто попадал в Top 5 в списке бестселлеров каждого месяца. Он также стал полноценным конкурентом Honda Stream, Mazda Premacy и Mazda 5. Toyota Wish был запущен в качестве модели местной сборки в Таиланде в декабре 2003 года.
2004
В ноябре 2004 года начались продажи Toyota WISH в тайване (вариант с левым расположением руля). Для этого рынка автомобиль продается под лозунгом «Без Правил». В Тайваньской версии есть отличия в дизайне: новый внешний вид, изменены задние фонари, отражатели утоплены в задний бампер, хромовая вставка в дверях. Оборудование может включать датчики парковки, двойного люка
и кожаных сидений. Может быть в бежевой цветовой гамме интерьера в отличие от японской и тайской версии.
2005
автомобиль имел огромный успех в Японии и в конце 2005 года TOYOTA выпустила обновленную модель WISH. Косметические
изменения коснулись фар, бамперов, светодиодных задних фонарей, приборной панели и климат контроля с коробкой передач.
Поскольку изменения были незначительными цифры расхода топлива, которые являются лучшими в классе компактных минивенов, остались теми же. Модель 2005 года была предназначена для продажи исключительно через дилерскую сеть NETZ Toyota, по этому
была замена эмблема на капоте в виде буквы «W» на эмблему NETZ.
2009
Во втором поколении минивэн Wish сохранил свой стильный внешний облик и высокую функциональность. Этот автомобиль рассчитан на разный вкус и любой образ жизни, в том числе активный. Wish немного вырос в габаритах, и базовая модель, к примеру, попадает в категорию «5 number» по японской классификации (т.е. имеет длину до 4,7 м, ширину до 1,7 м, высоту до 2 м и двигатель не более 2000 куб.см), однако кроме неё имеются и две модификации с более широким кузовом. Немного увеличился и общий вес автомобиля, а колеса теперь не на 15, а на 16 дюймов. Главными приоритетами в создании Wish по прежнему оставались доступная цена, легкость в управлении, вместимость и экономия топлива.

Широкое расположение колес и удобный пол создают достаточное пространство в салоне для пассажиров. От этого ничуть не уменьшается размер багажника. Главное отличие данной модели от более привычных с 2 рядами состоит в повышенном комфорте салона и вместительном багажном отделении.
Toyota Wish стала результатом стремления производителя к идеалу. Рулевое колесо отличается многофункциональностью. Стильный салон выполнен в темных оттенках, а для обивки использованы качественные и приятные на ощупь материалы. Технические и эксплуатационные характеристики
Тойота Виш обладает мощным и надежным двигателем объемом 1,8 и 2 литра с 4 рядами цилиндров, а также оборудован системой смены фаз распределения газа.
Мощность основных версий кроссовера:
- с полным приводом — 125 л.с.;
- с передним приводом — 132 л.с.;
- последняя версия авто в комплектации с вариатором — 155 л.с.
В комплектацию входит четырехступенчатая коробка передач автомат. Современная система питания D4 отличается высокой эффективностью и надежностью. Передняя подвеска Тойота Виш представлена амортизирующей стойкой. Стойка оснащена пружиной винтового типа. Задняя подвеска является 2-рычажной. Но версии кроссовера с передним приводом предусматривают упрощенную заднюю подвеску (торсионного типа).
Автомобиль великолепно маневрирует, а работа двигателя практически бесшумная. У различных версий данной модели отличается разворотный радиус. Минивэн с передним приводом имеет радиус 5,3 м, 4 WD — 5,5 м. Полноприводная Тойота Виш с двигателем объемом 1,8 л предусматривает подсоединение задней оси при помощи электро-механической муфты.
Системы защиты Toyota Wish
Защитные системы кроссовера:
- антиблокирующая тормозная система, характеризующаяся равномерным распределением усилий тормозов;
- дополнительная система тормозов Брейк Ассист;
- подушки безопасности — 2 в базовой комплектации (возможна дополнительная установка боковых подушек);
- шторки безопасности (приобретаются дополнительно).
Даже базовые модели оснащены указанными системами. Наиболее дорогие версии данной модели оборудованы особо мощными фарами, безупречно освещающими дорогу в темноте. В дорогую комплектацию входит также аэрообвес, а руль покрыт кожаным плетением.
Основные изменения
Производитель постоянно ведет работу по усовершенствованию этого популярного авто. Основные изменения затронули передний бампер и заднюю часть. В задний бампер стали встраиваться мощные светоотражатели.
Кузов теперь оборудован блестящими элементами с хромовым покрытием. Это добавляет привлекательности и без того шикарной модели. В 2005 г. произошли последние изменения дизайна. Они коснулись фар и бамперов, а также оборудования салона (панель управления). В этом варианте и продолжается сейчас производство Toyota Wish.
