3. Я очень люблю проводить время со своей семьёй. Мои родители любят устраивать сюрпризы друг для друга и для нас. Вот мы часто ходим в музеи, посещаем галереи, а порой папа организовывает ужин в ресторане для всей семьи.
   Мама говорит, что так рада порой забыть об обязанностях по дому и насладиться ужином со всей семьёй.

7. What I prefer to do when I want to enjoy myself is go to a cafe with my friend because it’s a way to cheer me up and to chat about everything I want to. “Coffee et Chocolate” is a good chain coffee house in Saratov city. Most of all I like to go to one that is located in Kirova street.
   Coffee et Chocolate provides the customers with a rich tea and coffee list, desserts, and ice-creams. You may pop into this cafe to have breakfast, lunch or dinner. The quality of food is out of the world beginning from coffee up to second courses.
   The coffee house tries to create a tranquil atmosphere in order to attract customers. The waitresses are smiley and are ready to serve quickly. There is always French music or French songs which you may enjoy listening to.
   The last time I ate out there on the 12-th of October with my friend before going to the Drama theatre. It was raining all day long, the rain beat against the windows. We were sitting in cosy armchairs, drinking coffee, eating sweet cakes “Tiramisu”, and watching the passers-by through the window. We were satisfied with the service as usual I should say, and I was surprised by the waitress who did not take notes but remembered our order, by the way we ordered a lot. After having a lunch there we went to the theatre.
   I would recommend this cafe to anyone who likes cosy atmosphere, where you can plunge and just relax, you may chat with friends there and listen to the French music if you wish.

    I enjoy eating out. We often go to a restaurant with my parents. It usually happens at weekend or Friday evenings, when everybody is free from work and studies. My mum likes Italian food: pasta with different sauces, pizza, lasagne and other national dishes. My father prefers eastern cuisine. His favourite dish is grilled meat with vegetables. As for me, I’m a fan of sushi and fast food. As you see our tastes differ. That’s why we choose to go to various restaurants. For example, last week, we went to the nearest sushi-bar. We had a great time there. First of all, the atmosphere in the restaurant was nice. There were black square tables and lots of Japanese national ornaments. We chose the table next to the window. The waiters were also very kind and welcoming. My parents don’t like Japanese food much, so they ordered simply some salads and fried chicken wings. Luckily, they don’t serve only national food in this restaurant. I ordered a portion of traditional rolls and a cup green tea. Everything was rather delicious. My parents tried a small piece of my rolls and said they weren’t bad. We asked the waiter to bring us the bill and left after paying. It was an excellent evening. Sometimes I eat out with my friends. We usually go to a fast food place. There is a large shopping center not far from my house and we often go there. When we get hungry, we go to the ground floor where many fast food restaurants are situated. There we usually have a sandwich or a portion of pancakes with a glass of juice.

    I love talking and writing about my restaurant experiences so have decided to start a new thread so that I can do this!
    I will start with my favourite ever restaurant – La Luna Bistro.
    I’ve been to this place several times over the past 5 years and it absolutely never fails to impress. I have been on several occasions for lunch and dinner. The restaurant also opens for weekend brunch but this is something I’ve yet to try. As the prices are a little out of my regular restaurant budget I don’t visit as often as I’d like to, but when I do the satisfaction and warm glow I receive after my meal lasts for weeks, if not months!
    It starts as soon as you open the door – the staff are the friendliest I’ve dealt with in any restaurant. I feel welcome, that my custom is appreciated.
    When you go to La Luna you can see that everyone – both the staff and the customers are excited and passionate about the food. Several dishes I have tried at this restaurant include their pasta with calamari, a half roasted duck with cherry sauce, and the most amazing steak I’ve ever eaten. You can tell the freshest and best quality ingredients have been used every time. Portion size is generous, which is also a plus.
    And if you can fit it in, the mezze dessert platter is a fabulous ending to a meal, when it’s put in front of you you’re spoiled for choice – you’d probably get a mousse, a sorbet, ice cream, creme brulee and some sort of cake, among other treats! It’s absolutely wicked
    Writing all this down I can’t wait to have an excuse to go back!

    The British have taken good ideas from all over the world. You can eat Chinese, Indian, Italian and Greek food in any big city. There is a fantastic variety of restaurants.
    The restaurants’ best customers are business people, who meet in them to talk business in a relaxed atmosphere away from the telephone. They can eat what they like because the company pays the bill.
    When a man and woman want to get to know each other better, they often go out to a restaurant together. After all it’s easier to talk in a quiet atmosphere with soft music, wine and good food. Most British families only go to restaurants on special occasions, like birthdays or wedding anniversaries.
    For visitors to London, eating out can be fun. But if you want that special feeling of London, go to the Ritz in Picadilly for tea any afternoon at about half past four. And you’ll see that the prices are very high.
    Then you can try England’s favourite food-fish and chips. Take it away and eat where you like — in the park, on the bus or while you walk down the street. British restaurants have not always been famous for their good food.
    Too often, they offered only fried food and chips with everything. But now healthy food is in fashion.

Last weekend my family and I went to a lovely place to eat out. It wasn’t a fast food restaurant because my parents prefer healthy food and my mum doesn’t eat meat. She is a vegetarian. So we went out for a meal in an Italian restaurant and it was really great!

First of all, there were so many dishes on the menu to choose from: starters, salads, soups, main courses, desserts and drinks. We were quite hungry, so we had a three course meal there.

I don’t care for spicy food, so I ordered a mushroom soup, a piece of pizza with bacon and cheese and, of course, my favourite Caesar salad with chicken. It was made from grilled chicken, cherry tomatoes, parmesan cheese, lettuce leaves and crispy croutons. The dressing was really delicious. The portions were quite big, so when I finished I was really full.

The food was tasty and the prices were not high. Our waitress was very friendly and polite, she made us feel welcome, and at the end of our family meal she served me with a plate of a fantastic Italian dessert, just on the house. We were quite pleased with the service there and we would definitely like to eat out there again. Besides I would recommend the restaurant to all of my friends.

A lot of people like to go out, because they want to relax and get some new impressions. Many people prefer to go to cafés or restaurants. I’m no exception. I like to go to cafés and coffee shops very much. I rarely go to restaurants, because they are usually quite expensive and pretty crowded. Of course a restaurant menu is a lot more diverse. But for me personally the atmosphere is more important than the food.

I usually choose a small, but cozy café with unique atmosphere. I have a couple of my favorite cafés with very nice interior design. I usually have a big cup of cappuccino, a cake or some snack. While sipping coffee I study carefully every small detail of the café. My thoughts fly far away and I forget about my routine.

I also like to go to Italian restaurants with my friends. We have a couple of big pizzas and beer. We usually discuss some topic and exchange our ideas.

We have a very old family tradition: once a month we pay a visit to the restaurant for a family dinner. It is a great chance to spend the evening out of our usual setting. What is more, it is a good chance to have fun and get away from the routine we get tired of and enjoy some time with the family.

A week before that day we choose the restaurant. It is extremely necessary to reserve a table in advance as the place may be overcrowded at the weekend. We mostly book a table for four: my parents, me and my sister.

The tastes differ in our family. So every time we tend to try a new place or a new type of cuisine. We’ve already visited Indian, Italian, French, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and many other restaurants. The tendency now is that Japanese cuisine is the most popular for the sushi. But my family and I prefer Indian or Indonesian food.

My sister is a vegetarian so we usually look for a place where she can find something for herself. It is good that more and more restaurants suggest food for any customer’s needs nowadays.

When the evening comes we usually take the places, the waiter takes the order and in the beginning we usually have something delicious to drink and spend some time discussing our current issues. We also have a very strong rule: no phones during the dinner.

Luckily, we don’t usually have any problems with our orders. The food usually is tasty and delicious. But it may happen that it is too salty or spicy. In that case we never argue but ask it to be changed. And we never receive a denial. Maybe because we are very polite and smiley.

Several hours later we ask for a bill, pay in cash or with a credit card and have a long walk back home. I really enjoy such evenings for the sense of unity and love. It helps to support good relationship with my parents and allows them to know all about my and my sister’s lives. I will start with my favourite ever restaurant – La Luna Bistro.
I’ve been to this place several times over the past 5 years and it absolutely never fails to impress. I have been on several occasions for lunch and dinner. The restaurant also opens for weekend brunch but this is something I’ve yet to try. As the prices are a little out of my regular restaurant budget I don’t visit as often as I’d like to, but when I do the satisfaction and warm glow I receive after my meal lasts for weeks, if not months!
It starts as soon as you open the door – the staff are the friendliest I’ve dealt with in any restaurant. I feel welcome, that my custom is appreciated.
When you go to La Luna you can see that everyone – both the staff and the customers are excited and passionate about the food. Several dishes I have tried at this restaurant include their pasta with calamari, a half roasted duck with cherry sauce, and the most amazing steak I’ve ever eaten. You can tell the freshest and best quality ingredients have been used every time. Portion size is generous, which is also a plus.
And if you can fit it in, the mezze dessert platter is a fabulous ending to a meal, when it’s put in front of you you’re spoiled for choice – you’d probably get a mousse, a sorbet, ice cream, creme brulee and some sort of cake, among other treats! It’s absolutely wicked

We have a very old family tradition: once a month we pay a visit to the restaurant for a family dinner. It is a great chance to spend the evening out of our usual setting. What is more, it is a good chance to have fun and get away from the routine we get tired of and enjoy some time with the family.

A week before that day we choose the restaurant. It is extremely necessary to reserve a table in advance as the place may be overcrowded at the weekend. We mostly book a table for four: my parents, me and my sister.

The tastes differ in our family. So every time we tend to try a new place or a new type of cuisine. We’ve already visited Indian, Italian, French, Thai, Chinese, Japanese and many other restaurants. The tendency now is that Japanese cuisine is the most popular for the sushi. But my family and I prefer Indian or Indonesian food.

My sister is a vegetarian so we usually look for a place where she can find something for herself. It is good that more and more restaurants suggest food for any customer’s needs nowadays.

When the evening comes we usually take the places, the waiter takes the order and in the beginning we usually have something delicious to drink and spend some time discussing our current issues. We also have a very strong rule: no phones during the dinner.

Luckily, we don’t usually have any problems with our orders. The food usually is tasty and delicious. But it may happen that it is too salty or spicy. In that case we never argue but ask it to be changed. And we never receive a denial. Maybe because we are very polite and smiley.

Several hours later we ask for a bill, pay in cash or with a credit card and have a long walk back home. I really enjoy such evenings for the sense of unity and love. It helps to support good relationship with my parents and allows them to know all about my and my sister’s lives. So just try spending some time together with your family at the restaurant, and you will notice that your relationship has become much better.

I enjoy eating out. I often have dinner in a good restaurant or café with my friends or my family. I’ve got a couple of favourite places for eating out. One of them is “Tokyo”. It’s a restaurant which offers excellent Japanese cuisine.

The prices aren’t quite low there, the average dinner is about 20-30 dollars for each person. But I prefer high quality and nice service, that’s why I go to “Tokyo“ once or twice a month.

The menu can fit any taste. There is a large selection of vegetarian dishes and special dishes for children which include chicken, steak and pasta meals. There are also a lot of fantastic desserts to choose from. For a starter I normally have some seafood salad, and for the main course it is usually grilled salmon served with wild mushrooms and seasonal vegetables. Sometimes my meal is accompanied by a glass of dry wine. The favourite part of my dinner is the dessert. I am sure that “Tokyo” makes the best chocolate pudding I have ever tasted. So I always order this with a cup of black coffee.

We can have much fun in this restaurant because the food is cooked just in front of us and served by the chefs. We sit around the table for eight people. Our chef brings all ingredients to the table and starts a theatrical performance of preparing the food. The chef chops and grills meat, fish and vegetables. Then he serves our freshly cooked, juicy and steaming hot food. Both adults and children enjoy the show.

I really love my evening meals at “Tokyo” restaurant. It offers outstanding food, great service and unforgettable entertainment.

When your food is on the table, take a second to put a napkin on your knees in order not to get dirty and look silly afterwards. You should also respect food traditions and rules if you eat in a restaurant with a foreign cuisine.

If you are in an Asian restaurant, try to use chopsticks while eating. If you prefer Italian cuisine, don’t order pasta as garnish and don’t eat a meal and a coffee with milk together. After a dinner, you may order an espresso only.

Finally, when you finish your dinner, compliment on food and ask for a bill. You can pay cash or by card. It is on your preference. In some restaurants tips are already included in a bill, in others you decide whether to give a gratuity or not.

I don’t really like eating at home. Student life includes many interesting events, so there is absolutely no time for cooking. I have several places where I go when I want to eat out. But my absolute favourite is a fast food restaurant McDonald’s. I go there a few times a week.

Prices are very low, so everyone can afford coming here quite often. Food preparation does not take much time: usually about 5-10 minutes depending on the number of customers. The food itself is very filling; you definitely won’t be hungry after it!

Everyone will find something in the menu. There is a wide range of dishes from vegetarian vegetable salad to chicken nuggets. In the mornings one can buy unique dishes, such as a burger with an egg and bacon or an omelette. My favourite set includes a cheeseburger, a chickenburger, medium french fries and a glass of orange juice. Sometimes I can indulge myself with some dessert, for example, ice cream or berry pie.

Service in the restaurant is also at a high level. Employees are polite and always ready to help, despite the fact that there is a huge crowd of customers in the hall. The music is just as great! Often my friends and I come to McDonald’s to have a good time and enjoy a delicious dinner!

I like going to restaurants at the weekend very much. It’s a splendid opportunity to rest from day-to-day cares and just relax. Before setting off for a restaurant, I necessarily reserve (book) a table for me not to wait to be seated. If I go there on my own, I make a reservation for one person. If my friends come along with me, then I book a table for two or more people.

In my city there different kinds of restaurants – Indian, French, Chinese and so on. I prefer oriental cuisine, so I can often be found in Japanese restaurants. Probably everyone is aware of the most signature dish of the Japanese – there’s no doubt that it is sushi. Most of my comrades don’t like sushi and when I’m going to make my way definitely for a Japanese restaurant, they refuse to go there with me.

Nevertheless, I don’t get upset and don’t give myself up to despair because of loneliness. On the contrary – I get a chance to sit in silence for a while, listen to oriental music and taste “one of the specials”.

Waiters in the Japanese restaurant are very obliging. At the beginning they hand me the menu for 10-15 minutes so that I might study it well. I adore sweets, therefore I always order some dessert. A waiter takes my order and after a while he serves me the dessert. At the end I pay for the dinner and leave some tip.
