New Year Adventures of Masha and Vitya (Russian: Новогодние приключения Маши и Вити, romanized: Novogodnyie priklucheniya Mashi i Viti) is a 1975 Soviet children’s film directed by Igor Usov and Gennadi Kazansky.[1][2]
Plot[edit]
Elementary school children Vitya and Masha are complete opposites; Vitya believes only in science and technology, while Masha believes in miracles. During the hall’s preparation for the New Year at their school, Masha brings to life the sculpture of Father Frost with a magic spell, who transports her and Vitya to a fairy-tale world to save the Snow Maiden: Koschei kidnapped the Snow Maiden to arrange the New Year for his evil spirits.
Father Frost gives the children three tips: One, do not wait for anyone to help, but help everyone in need, 2) do not get lost in a difficult moment and 3) hold on to each other when in a bad situation. Learning this, Koschey sends them an impure force – the vocal-instrumental trio «Wild Guitars»: Baba Yaga, Leshy and Wild Cat Matvei. Masha and Vitya fly away on a mortar and pestle from Baba Yaga. Vitya strikes Leshy with a self-made electroshock weapon. He also distracts Wild Cat Matvei, who runs around the forest with a big slingshot, using a mechanical mouse.
On the way to Koschei’s kingdom, Masha and Vitya also meet the Stove, the Apple Tree and Old Man-Forester and help them, and in return they show the children the way with the help of charcoal, an apple and a ball. But at the last moment Koshchei abducts Masha and lowers her on the elevator to his dungeon. Soon it turns out that Koshchei’s teeth hurt, and Masha relieves the sorcerer’s toothache with a healing rinse in exchange for the Snow Maiden’s release. Vitya summons Koshchei to a duel and defeats him with an ordinary magnet. The «Wild Guitars» trio go in pursuit of children, but the Stove, the Apple Tree and Old Man-Forester help Vitya and Masha, and they return to school with the Snow Maiden, where children and Father Frost are waiting for them.

«Новогодние приключения Маши и Вити» — детская новогодняя сказка; снята в 1975 году Игорем Усовым и Геннадием Казанским.
Сюжет
Они такие разные — младшеклассники Витя, верящий только в технику, и Маша, верящая в чудеса. Вместе с другими ребятами они украшают ёлку, но Дед Мороз поведал им, что Снегурочку похитил Кащей, чтобы устроить Новый Год для своей нечисти. Маша и Витя с помощью Деда Мороза отправляются в сказку на помощь Снегурочке. Дед Мороз дает детям три совета: не ждать ни от кого помощи, но самим помогать всем кто в ней нуждается, не теряться в трудную минуту и держаться друг друга если придется туго.
Кащей, узнав об этом, посылает им навстречу нечистую силу — вокально-инструментальную троицу «Дикие гитары»: Бабу-Ягу, Лешего и Дикого Кота Матвея. От Бабы-Яги ребята улетают на её ступе. Лешего Витя пытает током. Кота (который весь фильм бегал с большой рогаткой) отвлекают механической мышкой. Печка, Яблонька и Старичок-Лесовичок всячески помогают ребятам за их доброту. Каждая встреча со сказочными героями сопровождается песнями.
Ребята добираются до Кащея. У Кащея очень болят зубы, Маша вылечивает боль, взамен Кащей освобождает Снегурочку, а Витя в поединке побеждает Кащея с помощью магнита. Дети убегают, а Печка, Яблонька и Старичок-Лесовичок отвлекают нечистую силу. Маша с Витей возвращаются к Деду Морозу и к ребятам. Новый Год успешно наступает.

- Михаилу Боярскому в момент съемок фильма было всего 25 лет, но из-за своих «фирменных» усов и хриплого голоса в кадре он выглядит гораздо старше.
- В фильме Кот Матвей дважды назвал Кащея дядей. В жизни Николай Боярский и в самом деле родной дядя Михаила Боярского.
- М. Боярский играл в фильме ещё одну роль — слуги и подпевалы Кащея.
- Схожие способы борьбы с нечистью продемонстрировал Ваня из мультфильма «Ивашка из дворца пионеров» 1981 года: механическая мышь против кота, магнит против Кащея, полёт на ступе похож на полёт Горыныча из мультфильма.
- В 1976 году была выпущена на пластинке и на аудиокассетах музыкальная сказка «Маша и Витя против „Диких гитар“». Сюжет слегка отличался от сюжета фильма, например, дети спасали не Снегурочку, а Белоснежку. Новый год в аудиозаписи также не упоминался; соответственно, вместо Деда Мороза в оригинале фигурирует просто Волшебник. Сказка состояла сплошь из песен, и только речь от автора была в прозе. Тексты песен почти идентичны песням в фильме, лишь слегка отличаясь в 2—3 местах. Озвучивали сказку, в основном, другие актёры, и только М. Боярский также озвучивал Кота Матвея. Среди других актёров: От автора — В. Абдулов, Леший — Г. Гладков, Кащей — А. Градский.
