Venom is an anti-hero in the Spider-Man franchise. He is one of Spider-Man’s archenemies later turned rival. The name has belonged to several different hosts over the years, which means that Venom is indeed the identity of this particular alien Symbiote. The Symbiote named itself Venom and considered itself as a venom for Spider-Man.

History

Venom was one of the first symbiotes created by Knull who wanted to destroy the light of the universe. After Knull’s imprisoned ment the symbiotes who were pure hearted wanted to distince from their dark origins while the corrupted ones go on terroizing the galaxy.

  • Sonic and Heat: The Venom symbiote, like all others of its kind, is extremely vulnerable to heat and sonic based attacks. They can cause the symbiote physical pain and discomfort, whereas «more powerful» attacks might be completely ineffective.

Personality

The Venom symbiote is sweet, polite, kind, friendly, compassionate, and reasonable, as it cares about its hosts and loves them unlike most of its corrupted kind, but after being rejected by Spider-Man and bonding with Eddie Brock, it becomes corrupted, arrogant, and bloodthirsty, as it becomes willing to use lethal force if needed, and after leaving Eddie, and bonding with Mac Gargan who is known as the supervillain Scorpion, it becomes uncaring and cruel, as it knew by that point that hurting innocent people is bad, but didn’t care at all by that point, but after being separated from Mac Gargan and being bonded to Flash Thompson, it starts to regain some of its kindness and compassion as it didn’t like being kept in check by him, as he uses drugs to keep it in check, while he uses it to walk around again, but over time starts to care about each other and even with the symbiote sparing the Guardians of the Galaxy, after it hears the call to its home planet which it takes them out, but leaves them alive instead of killing them, and before being cleansed, tells Flash that it was an honor serving with him, showing that in the end, the Venom symbiote regained its good-hearted nature once more thanks to him, and after bonding again with Eddie, becomes a straight up superhero along with him.

Trivia

  • Oddly, it was shown that Venom doesn’t like being called a «parasite», even by Eddie (as they are arguing about this at the end of the film).
  • It was also shown that Venom did like Anne and care about her; this could be one of the reasons why Venom didn’t kill her while re-swapping into Eddie (which is unlikely as a symbiote would have to kill its host if he/she wasn’t suitable to their nature or when swapping to another host).
  • Venom has made two appearances on the popular Internet series DEATH BATTLE where he fought Bane and won then against Crona from Soul Eater but lost

Venom is a 2018 American superhero movie based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name, produced by Columbia Pictures in association with Marvel[5] and Tencent Pictures. Distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing, it is the first movie in Sony’s Marvel Universe, adjunct to the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Directed by Ruben Fleischer from a screenplay by Scott Rosenberg, Jeff Pinkner, and Kelly Marcel, it stars Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock / Venom, alongside Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Scott Haze, and Reid Scott. In Venom, journalist Brock gains superpowers after being bound to an alien symbiote whose species plans to invade Earth.

Despite receiving mixed reviews from film critics, the film was positively welcomed from audience and fans alike which praised its story, humor, Eddie Brock and Venom’s relationship, characters, soundtrack, special effects, cast performances (especially Hardy’s double one), action scenes and the ending.

One of my favorite things to do is to watch movies. I don’t mind spending a couple of hours on watching a really good film.

I’ve been J.R.R. Tolkien’s fan since childhood that’s why I couldn’t miss a chance to watch movies filmed by Peter Jackson, a famous Hollywood director. The last two parts of “The Hobbit” I watched in the cinema but before that I had rewatched the first part at home. After that I decided to watch “the Lord of the Rings”.

Horror is one of my favourite genres. I like watching horror movies and reading scary books. In my opinion, horror is thrilling and exciting. Some people don’t understand the pleasure of watching such movies, but most of my friends do. One of them even said that horror is the most typical art of the 20th century.

Many techniques in this genre were pioneered by Alfred Hitchcock. His best-known film was certainly “Psycho” filmed in 1960. Other good movies with horror elements were “The Sixth Sense”, “Jurassic Park”, “Jaws”, “I am a Legend”, ‘Ghostbusters”.

My Hometown или My Homecity?

Отмечу такой момент. Вы наверняка знаете, что town — это маленький городок, а city — большой город. Кажется логичным, что, если вы из Москвы, то нужно писать homecity, не так ли? На самом деле, не совсем так. Слово homecity в принципе возможно и понятно, но обычно под hometown подразумевают родной город независимо от его размеров. Вот пример из Cambridge Dictionary:

He was born in Miami, but he considers New York his hometown since he’s lived there most of his life. — Он родился в Майами, но считаю Нью Йорк своим родным городом, так как прожил там большую часть жизни.

Другой вопрос, hometown — это город, где родился или город, где живу? Может быть и то, и другое. Если вы родились, выросли и живете в Челябинске, смело называйте его своим «hometown». I was born in Nizhny Novgorod. It is my hometown. I have been living here all my life. Let me tell you more about it.

It is a very lively place, located in Central Russia. It was founded in 1221. Back then it used to be a major trading hub. People from all over the country came to Nizhny Novgorod to buy and sell goods. Now it has a population of one million and five hundred thousand citizens, it is the 6th biggest city in Russia.

Nowadays it is a large city with a big city center and suburbs. A lot of companies have their headquarters in Nizhny Novgorod. It is one of the biggest economic centers in Russia.

Of course, each city has its advantages and disadvantages. Let’s start with the advantages. There are many ways of transportation in Nizhny Novgorod. You can travel by bus, by trolley, you can even take the underground. Also, Nizhny Novgorod has an advantageous geographical location because it is located between two major cities — Moscow and Kazan.

However, there are also some disadvantages. First of all, it is very dirty and noisy because of traffic jams. Second, it hasn’t got a lot of public areas, such as parks, where you can spend your time with friends. Third, life here is pretty expensive, and the prices of houses and apartments are quite high.

In conclusion, I would like to say that despite all the disadvantages I like my city because I was born there and have a lot of good memories of it.

The man and the monkeys.

Task I: read & comprehend the following story.

    One day a man who made caps went to the market to sell them. It was a long way to go. The man passed  by a long river. When he was in the forest, he decided to rest a little, as the day was very hot and he was very tired.

  The man saw a large tree. He decided to rest under it.

  As the sun was very hot, the man put on one of the caps on his head and put all the other caps on the ground under the tree. The man had lunch, then lay down and soon was asleep. When he woke up, he could not find the caps.

“Where are my caps?” he cried. He could not find them anywhere.  

    Suddenly he looked up. And what did he see? He saw many monkeys in the tree, and each monkey had the man’s cap on its head!

“Give me back my caps!” cried the man. But the monkeys could not understand the man. They laughed, jumped and played with the caps.

The man asked and asked the monkeys to give him back his caps, but the monkeys didn’t understand him. They only laughed.

The man got very much angry with the monkeys. He took off his cap, threw it on the ground and cried: “If you want my caps, you may take this one, too!”

And do you know what the monkeys did? They took off the caps and threw them on the ground!

That’s how the man got back all his caps.

Certainly, he was very glad. He quickly took all his caps and went away.

The Bear in School

Task I: read & comprehend the following story.

One day a boy found a brown bear-cub in the forest. He was very little and looked like a puppy. The boy carried him home.

Every day the boy went to school. The bear-cub went with him and waited for the boy in the field.

At first the other boys were afraid of the bear-cub, but soon they became great friends. Many of them brought food to school and gave the bear-cub some bread and butter.

The bear-cub lived with the boy for a long time. But one day he went to the forest and did not come back. Everybody was very sorry for the bear-cub.

Many years passed. New schoolboys came to the old school. One very cold winter day the door opened, and a large brown bear walked into the classroom.  The boys were afraid. Some ran to the door, others jumped out of the window.

But the bear did not touch the pupils. He walked up to the fire and warmed himself. He felt quite at home. He was very glad to get into such a warm room. He sat by the fire, and then walked up to the table and ate some bread. Then the bear walked out of the house.

Some young men of the village came with their guns to kill the bear. They soon found him but did not kill him. They saw some marks on his skin and understood that the bear was the old friend of their schooldays. They let him go back into the forest.

A Day in the Life of Simon Carrot

Task I: read & comprehend the following story.

    First of all, I must tell you about myself. I am thirteen and I am in the third class at a Grammar school in Manchester

     What a terrible day! I woke up late and didn’t have time to eat my breakfast. I couldn’t find my books or my school cap. At last I found my books in the bathroom; and at last, I found my cap — my dog was playing with it! I was nearly late for school.

     The first lesson on Monday morning is maths. What a terrible way to start the week! Mr Green, the maths teacher, took our homework. He saw that my exercise — book was dirty. He was very angry and gave me a bad mark for it.

    Then he gave us some tasks to do. I sat next to Jane, who was  fat and not very pleasant — but very good at maths. I asked her to tell me the answers, but she didn`t want.

        The next lesson was French. I like French. It’s nice to be able to talk to somebody in another language.

      At last, it was eleven o’clock: time for break. Nell gave me a piece of cake to eat with my milk. She also gave me her Latin homework to copy. I think she likes me and she’s a nice girl.

      After break, we had two lessons of  Latin! They are bad: I hate Latin!

 Mr Williams punished me for talking to Nell.

      Then I went into the playground with my friends Pete Sharp and John Ford and we played football.

      After lunch we had a history lesson. I don’t usually like history, but I liked this lesson very much. We learned about the Battle of Hastings in 1066. We were on holiday in Hastings last summer. I said I would bring some photographs of our holiday to school the next week.

      At three o’clock it was time for my favourite lesson of the week: games. We played a very exciting game of football but it ended in a draw.

 After school at four o’clock, Pete and I bought some sweets and I went to his house to listen to music.

    Mum was angry because I didn’t arrive home till half past seven. She doesn`t like when I come home late. My supper was cold.

 I did my French homework but I didn’t do my history homework. There was an interesting programme on television.

Text 13. Seasons and Weather in Russia

Winter, spring, summer, autumn are the seasons of the year.

December, January and February are winter months. The weather is cold. It usually snows. The days are short and the nights are long. The rivers and lakes freeze and we can go skating and skiing.

March, April and May are spring months. Spring is a nice season. The weather is warm. There are many green trees in the streets and in the parks. The sun shines brightly. The birds sing songs everywhere.

June, July and August are summer months. In summer it is usually hot. The sky is blue. The days are long and the nights are short. There are many flowers in the parks and gardens. There are many berries in the forests.

September, October and November are autumn months. The weather is cool. It often rains.  The days become shorter and the nights become longer. The birds prepare to fly to the South. You can see yellow, red and brown leaves on the trees.

Text 14. Winter Holidays

I like winter because I have long winter holidays. They start on the 29th of December and last till the 10th of January.

The weather is usually fine. There is a lot of snow everywhere.

During winter holidays I have a lot of free time. I don’t have to get up early and go to school. I like to skate and ski.

Sometimes I go to my country house and meet my friends there. We spend a lot of time in the open air, go to the forest, build snowcastles and play snowballs. If it is cold, I usually stay at home. I read books, watch TV or play computer games.

Also I like my winter holidays because we have a happy day – New Year’s Day on the 1st of January and I get presents.

Sometimes my parents and I travel during winter holidays. Last year we visited Suzdal. We stayed in a hotel for three days. I saw many places of interest in Suzdal: wooden houses, beautiful churches and monasteries. It was a very impressive trip.

I like my winter holidays very much.

I like summer holidays very much. In summer it is warm and I have a lot of free time in the open air. I usually spend June at the seaside.

In July my parents have a vacation and we go to the seaside. Usually we go to the Black Sea. I like to swim in the sea and spend time on the beach.

In August my parents go to work and I go to the country. We have a country house where my grandparents live. I help them in the garden. I pick up apples and plums, water vegetables. We often go fishing with my grandad or pick up mushrooms in the forest. I have a lot of friends there. We ride bicycles or play games. I have a nice time in the country.

Summer is my favourite season and I enjoy my summer holidays very much.

Last summer I went camping with my dad. We took rucksacks, two sleeping bags, a tent, a map, a compass, torches, and, of course, matches.

Vitamin B is necessary for the nervous system. Vitamin C is important for bones and teeth.

To stay healthy you should eat healthy food. But unhealthy food is tasty because it has a lot of sugar or fat. Also it has no vitamins. For example, there is no vitamins in Coke, chips or fast food.

SAFARI PARKS

Нужно учитывать:

  • уровень знания языка. Определить уровень языка можно в интернете с помощью специальных тестов или вместе со своим учителем/репетитором;

Главный принцип в работе с историями на английском – систематичность. Только систематическая работа может гарантировать ожидаемый результат.

Методика работы с историями:

  • выбранную историю первый раз нужно прочитать бегло: попытаться понять общую идею прочитанного, не стремиться понять каждое слово;
  • во время чтения истории на английском во второй раз обратить внимание на интересные слова и структуры, употребление грамматики;

In the railway carriage, one boy was laughing all the time, when he was looking at the window.

The man sitting in from of him was getting angry. He was very tired and he wanted to sleep. But the boy was laughing all the time and prevented him.

The man could not stand it and said:

— Mister, could you tell something to your son. Calm him down.

The father didn’t say a word.

Then the man said again:

— I think, your son needs a doctor! His behavior is awful!

— We have just been there. – smiled a father.

The man surprised.

Father continued:

— My son started to see the world around him! His vision has been restored today.

One girl always wanted to learn how to play the violin. She was listening to music, watching concerts and was sitting sadly at the window.

Her family was very poor. They couldn’t buy a violin for their daughter.

But the girl tried not to be sad. She was happy when she heard the sound of a favorite musical instrument. She continued dreaming.

Once she was walking on the street when she saw a homeless man, who was playing the violin.

She has a few dollars with herself. She was so sorry for this man so she decided to give him her money.

— Thank you, kind girl. – said the man. – What can I do for you?

Blushed she came home without saying a word.

The next morning she found a violin near the front door. There was a note:

‘The kindness is always regarded’.

Once the Nightingale sat near rose. He started to sing a beautiful song. She was looking at the rose and his song was perfect.

The rose revived. She understood that somebody needs her. The bird always was sitting near here and singing its song.

Once he flew up very close and the rose was frightened:

— Fly away! – Cried she, — you can be pricked!

— I’m not afraid. – said the nightingale. – You are very beautiful and I’m not afraid to be pricked.

She heard such good words for the first time. She was pleased.

And she understood that there is always somebody who will not be afraid of you.

В саду росла красивая роза. Она была грустной и часто плакала. Другие цветы находили себе хозяев – их срывали и дарили друг другу люди. А розу никто не трогал. У нее были острые шипы.

The wind said that happiness is freedom.

The sky said that happiness is silence.

The water said that happiness is the speed.

The bird was frustrated. She thought that she got confused. Then she decided to ask the wise Owl. Owl answered:

— Happiness is when you are happy. You are happy when you fly and sing.

The bird was pleased. It was true! She was always happy when she was flying and singing!

She understood that every creature has their own happiness.

Once a big bear said:

— You mustn’t be friends with the hare! It is not right!

— But why? – asked the fox.

— Read the fairytales! This kind of friendship doesn’t exist!

The fox thought about it. And then answered:

— Not everything in the fairytale is true. Real life is more complicated and we can choose who we want to be friends with.

— Never mind. I am a part of nature. And you are too. What you did is bad.

— You’re not alive!

The tree lowered its branches and sadly replied:

— That’s what you think. But I’m alive. And the grass is alive. And the animals feel pain.

The boy pondered. He felt ashamed.

— Forgive me, tree. — He answered.

But the tree was silent.

The next day the boy went to the forest and behaved quietly. He realized that the forest is alive.

Девочка плачет

One little girl was crying all day. She was really sad.

Mother came to her and asked:

— Darling, why are you crying so long? What happened? Are you hurt?

— No, — said the girl.

— Maybe you have your toys broken?

— No!

— So tell me, why?

The girl looked at her mother’s eyes and said:

— Because my brother has holidays, and I don’t.

— But why? – Mother was surprised.

— Because I don’t go to school! – Cried the girl.

Одна маленькая девочка плакала весь день. Она была очень грустной.

Мама подошла к ней и спросила:

— Дорогая, почему ты плачешь? Что случилось? Тебя кто-то обидел?

— Нет, ответила девочка.

— Может, твои игрушки сломались?

— Нет!

— Так скажи же, почему?

Девочка посмотрела в мамины глаза и сказала:

— Потому что у моего брата каникулы, а у меня нет.

— Но почему? – удивилась мама.

— Потому что я еще не хожу в школу! – Разрыдалась девочка.

История на английском: «Великий доктор и великий писатель»

Доктор

Смешная история про ответ великого доктора на действия великого писателя:

One big artist’s dog broke its leg. He decided to call the doctor. But he didn’t want to ask for help an ordinary vet. So he called the best doctor in the world.

— Doctor, — said he, — it is very important for me. Help my dog.

The doctor said nothing but did his job.

Later he called this artist.

— Dear artist, — said he. – I called you to ask for your help. Paint my door, please. This is very important for me.

У великого художника собака сломала ногу. Он решил вызвать врача. Но он не хотел простого ветеринара, поэтому вызвал самого лучшего врача в мире.

— Доктор, это важно для меня. Помогите моей собаке.

Доктор промолчал, но сделал свою работу.

Позже доктор вызвал художника.

— Милый художник, — сказал он, улыбаясь, — я вызвал вас покрасить мою дверь. Это важно для меня! Вы можете это сделать?

История на английском: «Полицейский и вор»

Полицейский и преступник

Небольшая история, похожая на анекдот про вора и полицейского:

Young policeman was asked to get the thief to the prison. While they were walking to that place, the thief said:

— I need to go to the shop to buy some food.

The policeman was waiting for him for 30 minutes. After he realized that he was fooled.

After some time thief was caught again. Young policeman was asked to do the same job.

Walking through the shop thief said:

— I need to go to the shop, wait for me.

— No! – Cried policeman. – You won’t do the same again. Now I will go to the shop and you will wait for me.

Молодого полицейского попросили сопроводить вора в тюрьму. По дороге вор сказал:

— Я должен зайти в магазин и купить еды, подождите меня здесь.

Полицейский ждал полчаса. Потом зашел в магазин и понял, что вор убежал.

Вскоре вора снова поймали. И молодого полицейского снова попросили выполнить работу.

Проходя мимо магазина, вор снова сказал:

— Я зайду в магазин, а вы подождите меня.

Полицейский ответил:

— Нет уж! Один раз я уже попался. Теперь я пойду в магазин, а вы ждите меня здесь.
