The dolphins are assigned to mammals – a group of animals who make milk to feed they babies. They live in group from 10 to 12 individuals and don’t like to be alone for a long time.

This animal is regarded as fish by many people, but this is very euphonious measurement. Moreover, it even can’t stay under the water more than 15 minutes. A blowhole on top of their heads is used to breathe. To get food, to find each other and the way it uses an echolocation and different sounds and whistles to communicate. In contrast to fish, the dolphins are warm-blooded. Fish and squid are food for them.

The dolphins are supposed to be the most clever animals in a world and some people believe that these mammals are clever than some human beings. They help to drowning persons, like children and are friendly to people. However, there is an exception to this rule is an orca, the largest dolphin. It is dangerous and cruel.

Unfortunately, some fishing methods, horrible ecological situation and illiterate hunting, kill a plenty of dolphins every year. These animals are not introduced into Red Data Books, but still need some care to survive. They could be found in the sea as well as in Delphinarium, but they die too fast in captivity.

Dolphins
are marine mammals with highly developed intelligence.  They live in various
seas and oceans. The most studied species is bottlenose dolphins.

The
name «dolphin» has roots from the Greek language. It means «baby» or «newborn

or crying. In ancient times, it was very popular with poets and sculptors.
There is a legend that if dolphins accompany the ship at the beginning of the

is a marine predator. It feeds on various species of fish and a variety of

kilometers per hour in the water.

Dolphins

using echolocation, catching sound vibrations reflected from solid objects.

Social
traits of animals allow them to easily make contact with humans. They are easy
to train and are friendly to people. Classes in dolphinariums are used to treat
people suffering from social adaptation disorders. There are specialized groups
for the treatment of children suffering from autism and other mental disorders.

The
psyche of dolphins is widely studied by physiologists. Many amazing discoveries
await scientists in the future.

On
average, dolphins live 20-30 years, but some live up to 70. Dolphins do not
sleep, but seem to hang at the surface of the water, periodically rising to
breathe.

The
innate sense of echolocation allows dolphins to explore the depths of the sea,
avoid obstacles and search for prey. With the help of sound signals (whistling,
chirping) dolphins communicate with each other. Some sounds are emitted at an

Dolphins
usually live in packs, which have from 10 to 100 members. Dolphins peacefully

mammals are very intelligent, easy to learn and friendly to humans. They have

people.
