Our homes today are smarter than they’ve ever been before, and they’re going to get smarter. we’re getting closer to a day where our homes do more for us than just give us a place to rest at night.New technologies provide connection between people and machines, allowing them to ‘talk’ easily to each other.Nobody knows how homes will look like in 10, 20 or 50 years from now. When you’re not home, nagging little doubts can start to crowd your mind. Did I turn the coffee maker off? Did I set the security alarm? Are the kids doing their homework or watching television? With a smart home, you could quiet all of these worries with a quick trip online. Smart homes connect all the devices and appliances in your home so they can communicate with each other and with you.
Anything in your home that uses electricity can be put on the home network and at your command. Whether you give that command by voice, remote control or computer, the home reacts.

3. Smart homes obviously make life easier and more convenient. Who wouldn’t love being able to control lighting, entertainment and temperature from their couch? Whether you’re at work or on vacation, the smart home will alert you to what’s going on, and security systems can be built to provide help in an emergency. For example, not only would a resident be woken with a fire alarm, the smart home would also unlock doors, dial the fire department and light the way to safety.
Smart homes also provide some energy savings. The devices can go to «sleep» and wake up when commands are given. Electric bills go down when lights are automatically turned off when a person leaves the room, and rooms can be heated or cooled based on who’s there at any given moment. Smart home technology promises great advantages for an elderly person living alone. Smart homes could notify the resident when it was time to take medicine, contact the hospital if the resident fell and turn off the oven if the cook had wandered away.

В современном мире даже можно управлять домом с помощью смартфона, который есть практически в каждом кармане, хотя данные технологии казались фантастическими ещё несколько десятков лет назад. Автоматизированная система, в которую превратился «умный» дом, освобождает человека от домашних забот. Таким образом, сэкономленное время можно потратить на то, что действительно приятно и полезно. Но необходимо разобраться, что представляет собой подобный дом, а также какие есть преимущества и недостатки.
«Умный дом» является специальной системой управления зданием, решающей задачи безопасности, связи и развлечений. Данная система состоит из таких элементов, как выключатели, таймеры, сенсоры, различные датчики, которые помогают измерять физические параметры. Также присутствуют вспомогательные устройства: блоки питания, модули и интерфейсы. Такую систему можно поставить не только в больших загородных домах, но и в обычной квартире.
Достоинством является то, что можно контролировать чайник, микроволновку, кондиционер, телевизор и другие бытовые приборы с помощью смартфона или планшета из любого места. Опять же не каждый дом может обеспечить бесперебойный источник питания для непрерывного функционирования оборудования.
Умный дом, несомненно, является очень комфортным для современной жизни. Не стоит забывать, что управление электронными устройствами все-таки осуществляется человеком и напрямую зависит от человеческого фактора, и так будет еще долгое время. Поэтому нужно задуматься, умный дом является плохим или хорошим решением ежедневных бытовых проблем. Возможно, в скором времени умный дом станет чем-то обычным в повседневной жизни, и машины будут решать за человека разные задачи.

Умный дом — это система, которая была придумана в 70х годах 20 века в Соединенных Штатах Америки для обозначения технологически оснащенного дома для комфортного проживания людей. Электронные приборы дома объединены в единую систему, которые связанны между собой через сеть. Подразумевается, что эта система должна иметь определённый заданный алгоритм действий в конкретных ситуациях.
Чаще всего в единую систему могут быть объединены: система отопления, вентиляции, пожарная сигнализация, охранный пункт, контроль утечки воды и газа, видеонаблюдение, телефон, интернет, электричество. Иногда люди выбирают только те функции, которые им нужны.

Система, которая контролирует микроклимат – измеряет температуру в доме и поддерживает ее на оптимальном уровне для здоровья и комфорта пользователей, также автоматически включает или выключает вентиляцию.

Умный дом ведет запись всех посетителей, их лица и действия остаются в его памяти. А в отсутствие хозяев долгое время, дом может включить режим, имитирующий присутствие в доме людей.
При аварийной ситуации, система оповестит все службы о проблеме и попытается устранить ее самостоятельно: перекроет воду или включит пожарную сигнализацию.

Is It Really Smart?
A smart home appears «intelligent» because its computer systems can monitor so many aspects of daily living. For example, the refrigerator may be able to inventory its contents, suggest menus and shopping lists, recommend healthy alternatives, and even routinely order groceries. The smart home systems might even ensure a continuously cleaned cat litter box or a house plant that is forever watered.
The idea of a smart home may sound like something out of Hollywood. In fact, a 1999 Disney movie titled Smart House presents the comical antics of an American family that wins a «house of the future» with an android maid who causes havoc. Other films show science fiction visions of smart home technology that seems improbable.
However, smart home technology is real, and it’s becoming increasingly sophisticated. Coded signals are sent through the home’s wiring (or sent wirelessly) to switches and outlets that are programmed to operate appliances and electronic devices in every part of the house. Home automation can be especially useful for the elderly, people with physical or cognitive impairments, and disabled persons who wish to live independently. Home technology is the toy of the super-wealthy, like Bill and Melinda Gates’ home in Washington State. Called Xanadu 2.0, the Gates’ house is so high-tech that it allows visitors to choose the mood music for each room they visit.

Пожарная сигнализация в доме
Система состоит из пожарных извещателей разных типов (температурные, задымления), сирены и блока управления. При возникновении опасности, система известит всех жильцов по всем возможным каналам связи: сирена, SMS-сообщения, e-mail, всплывающие уведомления в интерфейсе управления Умным домом.
Также можно установить датчики утечки газа и сервоприводы на клапаны газовой магистрали. Они должны располагаться вблизи с возможным источником утечки: газовая магистраль, газовый водонагреватель (котёл или колонка), газовая плита и др. При срабатывании датчика утечки газа происходит перекрытие клапанов и оповещение жильцов по аналогии с противопожарной системой.

Think of your house like it’s one, big computer. If you ever opened up the «box» or CPU of your home computer, you’ll find tiny wires and connectors, switches and whirling discs. To make it all work, you have to have an input device (like a mouse or a keyboard), but even more importantly, each of the components has to be able to work with each other.
Smart technologies will evolve more quickly if people didn’t have to buy entire systems, because let’s face it — some of us aren’t as wealthy as Bill Gates. We also don’t want to have 15 remote control devices for 15 different devices — we’ve been there and done that with televisions and recorders. What consumers want are add-on systems that are easy-to-use. What small manufacturers want are to be able to compete in this new marketplace.
Two things are needed to make homes truly “smart,” writes research journalist Ira Brodsky in Computerworld. «First are sensors, actuators and appliances that obey commands and provide status information.» These digital devices are already omnipresent in our appliances. «Second are protocols and tools that enable all of these devices, regardless of vendor, to communicate with each other,» says Brodsky. This is the problem, but Brodsky believes that «smartphone apps, communication hubs and cloud-based services are enabling practical solutions that can be implemented right now.»
Home energy management systems (HEMS) have been the first wave of smart home devices, with hardware and software that monitors and controls a homes heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. As standards and protocols are being developed, the devices in our homes are making them appear smart—very smart!

Если Вы опасаетесь вторжения непрошенных гостей, то тревожная кнопка позволит сообщить без видимых внешних проявлений Вашим доверенным лицам, которые могут что-то предпринять, о «нестандартной» ситуации в Вашем доме. В данном случае размещение тревожных кнопок в доме надо заранее продумать и разместить из вблизи двери на полу, в санузле или на самой двери, чтобы иметь возможность незаметно ее нажать.

The word domotics literally means home robotics. In Latin, the word domus means home. The field of domotics encompasses all phases of smart home technology, including the highly sophisticated sensors and controls that monitor and automate temperature, lighting, security systems, and many other functions.
No need for those pesky robots, however. These days most mobile devices, like «smart» phones and tablets, are digitally connected and control many home systems. And what will your smart home look like? It should look just like what you’re living in now if that’s what you want.
